Chonsawat is among 54 prisoners granted Royal pardon and released

BANGKOK: -- Former mayor of Samut Prakan provincial administration organization Chonsawat Asavahame was among 54 prisoners who were granted Royal pardon and released from Samut Prakan central prison on Wednesday.

 

Son of former deputy interior minister Vatana who is on the run after being sentenced to imprisonment by the Supreme Court’s criminal division for political office holders, Mr Chonsawat was sentenced to one year and six months on August 4, 2015 after he was found guilty of cheating in municipal election in 1999. He served only one year and one month in jail.
