NARATHIWAT: -- The State Railway of Thailand staged a trial run of the Bangkok-Sungai Kolok train service from Hat Yai train station to Sungai Kolok in Narathiwat province (Sunday).

The test run of the service as made possible after the completion of repairs of the rail tracks at Nikhom Kok Pho sub-station in Kok Pho district which were destroyed by a powerful bomb on September 3. One man was killed and three injured in the blast believed to be perpetrated by southern militants.

SRT governor Wutthichart Kalayanamit, senior SRT officials and security forces were on board the special Bangkok-Sungai Kolok train for the test run from Hat Yai train terminal to Sungai Kolok.

It must be Malaysia, theres no market stalls either side of the track.

What a strange comment. Is it because it is clean? The big boss was on the train so had to be clean.

The article is about the SRT and there's a picture of one of their 40 year old Alsthom locomotives.

Malaysian (KTM) units are mostly silver or blue.

True, that's always a dead give away.
