Bangkok (Sukhumvit) to Jomtien

Featured Replies

We are going to Thailand for the second time in January 2017, we are staying in Sukhumvit area (nearest BTS Asok), going to Jomtien Beach. whats the best way to get there? Dont mind taking coach/bus with AC, or by taxi. what sort of prices am I looking at for 2 adults with luggage.

You can take the bus from Ekamai to North Pattaya bus station(around 113 baht per person), then to charter a songthaew from there. Expect to pay around 200 baht for the Songthaew.

The taxi is probably the best way to go, especially for 2 people with luggage.  Pick you up at your door and drop you off at your hotel.

If by bus, once in Pattaya, you have to negotiate with the taxi mafia for a ride to your hotel.  Could be 300 Baht or more.  In the end, you're not saving much by using the bus.

Other options could be, depending on how much luggage you have :

1. Airport link to the airport and then the regular hourly bus to Jomtien. That will be well under 200B each. From the Jomtien terminal it may be possible to take a regular 10B bahtbus  depending on where the OP is actually going and at worse a charter will be much cheaper than one from the north Pattaya bus terminal.

2. Airport link to the airport and then the Bell bus to Pattaya. This includes a drop-off to most areas. Under 300B each in total.

3. Bell also have a bus from Bangkok with drop-off around Pattaya but it costs 400B and does not go very often.

Though I also agree that a taxi at perhaps 1200B all-in is easiest for two people with luggage. Most of the Pattaya taxi services will arrange this and it will probably be cheaper than getting one from Bangkok.

My friend just used Mr. T from his place near Thong Lor to Jomtien.  1200B.
