BANGKOK, 4 October 2016 (NNT) - New PRD Director General Lt. Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd outlined his policy during his first official meeting as the new head, stating that the department needs to be transparent and that the media should focus on serving the public interest.

Lt. Gen Sansern, who was appointed as director-general on September 28, also said that Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha is concerned about the the information released by the PRD. The premier suggested that the department present news based on benefiting the public rather than only showing the positive side of the government, and went on to state that some programs should be altered to attract a wider audience.

The conflict over digital TV licenses is an urgent issue for PRD and the new director-general has urged local staff in each province to maintain close relationship with local people and act as government middleman as well as a local information center.

PM wants more airtime for his speeches or PM wants someone else to deliver more of his speeches whilst he's busy with governing the country?

Huh? say again..................... "benefiting the public". The public has to accept what is said because it is for their benefit? If the public do not like it (but they cannot express their thoughts) it is still "benefiting the public"?

Damn, I am confused.
