smart phone fror hearing disabled

Featured Replies

It is three years since the subject last appeared on Thai Visa. And there are a whole lot of new mobile phones on the market. I am looking for a smart phone with very extra loud ringtones and loud clear listening with a good vibrator. I am completely deaf in one ear so hearing aids do not help me when I answer the phone. My worst problem seemed to be the poor quality of the audio when listening to a call. Increasing the volume does not seem to help. I need very clear speech when someone calls me.

Send a PM to kevjohn. He is in Australia and been through the same or similar in recent years and may be able to give you some advice or solutions.

You may or may not be aware that most Android phones have an option in Audio settings for "Outdoor" which boosts both ringtone volume and vibration intensity.

My ears are not good and when on the street, was often not hearing calls.  I miss a lot less using Outdoor.   Unfortunately, it does not boost earpiece volume.  There are some apps that do but I found using in the ear earbuds with an outgoing mic. gives me the most clarity.
