I'm interested in remodeling my kitchen and wondered if anyone knew of a reputable bamboo countertop fabricator or even a proper concrete kitchen countertop supplier anywhere in Bangkok or greater Thailand.  Thanks in advance for any good advice.

Most people would use granite for countertop here, with cheaper alternative being plastic laminate.   Have never seen bamboo used in a home.

Have not used anyone but contractor supplied; but this on web

I would never use Bamboo as a Countertop, and absolutely never as a Food Preparation surface.

 

As a Countertop fitting together the individual concave / convex parts of the Bamboo culm will result in an uneven surface which will be impossible to clean properly and will invariably leave a lot of food detritus  between those sections - to rot and contaminate whatever you later put on that surface.

 

As a Food Preparation surface it could easily be potentially fatal; small shards of Bamboo would be incorporated into whatever food you are chopping up and preparing on it, which would eventually enter your digestive system, to eventually expand on contact with liquids or digestive juices in the stomach and intestines to quite possibly puncture and infect those organs.

 

Stick with Granite, Marble or Hardwoods.
