November 16, 20169 yr Does anyone know if there is a Thai Law for the distance Industrial Rice Milling Machines should be from houses ?.
November 16, 20169 yr what do you call industrial hundreds of tons per day ?? or just a local one in nearly every village
November 16, 20169 yr Might sound funny, but who was there first the machine or you,? It does make sence, as if it was there first you havnt a chance,
November 16, 20169 yr considering that the machines i have seen (4) seem to be 50 years plus old (cons estimate) there is a very good chance that they came first
November 16, 20169 yr I was just saying as a guy a couple of villages away from us who has helped us over the years with pig advice has his pigs in the back garden, I once asked him your neighbours not complain ? He has the both sides he said I was here first with my pigs,

Do you not understand you are in thailand so if you have been here 7 years you know most Thais not care about laws just look how they all drive. you are a alien in thailand.
November 16, 20169 yr As stated, there are no laws to prohibit agriculture/harvesting next to a house. Given that you live in a country well known for growing rice, I'll put it bluntly and say you have zero chance of changing anything. Rather, Thai people will tend to think you are at best a little out of touch with the Thai lifestyle. At worst they will strongly dislike you interfering in them growing a crop to earn money and support their family. It will depend on what you say and how you say it. Rice farmers are not rich. They don't grow rice for fun. It's not going to look great if you start complaining from your nice air-conditioned house while they are out working in the sun. Fortunately the milling is not a long term thing.
November 16, 20169 yr We live almost next door to village milling shop no problems at all starts when working at 7am finishes usualy 1300 if busy maybe 1700 it's all dependent on customer demand. he also sells on the husk to burn into charcoal. he allows me to have 3 bags every week for free. which I roast into charcoal for our and Mil and sisters use. More noise from the loony birds than milling machine. Edited November 16, 20169 yr by Deepinthailand
