I see the DLT queue app is fully closed out as per usual for renewals. A few years ago that meant coming down to the the DLT early in the morning hoping to snag 1 of a 100 daily places with a bit of pushing and stress queuing. Is that still the case? What was the queue process, anyone done it recently? Tips welcome.

Go to the DLT in the afternoon, about an hour after their lunch break. The lady at the desk will give you a list of the required documents and an appointment in about 4 to 6 weeks.

Do not rely on online booking. If you do, you will be stuck waiting for months.

it is not closed, but u better book at least 6 months before u wnat an appt>
I will be booking sept 21st for an appt in mid march
that is a few days after my bd so will get 6 years

if u cant bother, show up at 7 am , line up at the door , ( dont sit down and wait) and u might get in

Its definitely closed out for Phuket, or shows all the hallmarks of being closed out. And after 6 months it's says cannot book >180 days in advance. (Look at day 180 the following day - fully booked 🤔)

October 2025.

Since Covid, I have visited DLT in person three times to get an appointment. They always give me an appointment months earlier than what I could get through online booking. You might also check if there are slots available in Phang Nga. I know a few people who choose to go there to get or renew their licenses.

Thank you. This was the right answer. You should go between 1 and 2. I went at 2:30 and was told come before 2 the next day. There is no ability to queue in the morning now or book online she told me. Also she advised to book appointment 6 months before expiry if you want to ensure continuity. The queue is currently 63 days in advance. Mine is mid November.

I did my renewal last month in Phuket. The Queue App works well, you need to get on there and book 5-6 months prior to when you want to go, also there was a sign there stating Foreigners must use the queue app.

Keep in mind that a certificate of residence is valid for only 30 days, so don't rush to obtain one too early.

i checked online yesterday, first available booking date was March 15th and that was the ONLY day avaialbe

Yes that sounds accurate, gotta be thinking 6 months prior to when you want to go to DLT with that queue app booking.
