Bangkok Bomb Plotters Linked To Southern Insurgency: Police

A police officer on Wednesday talks to suspects Talmisi Tohtalyon, 31; Mubarih Gana, 22; Abdullasir Suekachi, 19, at the Crime Suppression Division in Bangkok.

 

BANGKOK — Three men arrested for allegedly plotting bomb attacks in Bangkok were involved in the southern separatist movement, a senior police officer said Thursday.

 

Talmisi Tohtalyon, 31; Mubarih Gana, 22; Abdullasir Suekachi, 19, are accused of planning bomb attacks in tourist and residential areas of Bangkok, accusations they “half-confessed to, half-denied,” according to Maj. Gen. ChayapolChatchaidej, a commander of the Bangkok police force. All three suspects are natives of the southern border provinces.

Yes they were in the area but didn't plant the bombs?

Yes they're Malay Thai Muslims but didn't plant the bombs?

This kind of vague information released by the military indicates that they are half  blind about the investigation.

But the General told us it was not terrorists! Who to believe?

One wonders what methods which were used to elicit the "half-confessions" from these suspects.

 

Were they, too, of the  half-hearted variety - or the full Monty, complete with facecloths and lots of water, as used by our US cousins?

 

If we knew, maybe fewer Thai Visa posters would be assuming these young men guilty of terrorism before they have even been tried.
