NARATHIWAT, 27 December 2016 (NNT) - Deputy Education Minister M.L. Panadda Diskul visited Narathiwat to present the Sor Por Kor 401 land ownership papers to local residents affected by coastal erosion.

M.L. Panadda Diskul presided over the ceremony where Sor Por Kor 401 land title deeds were presented to people who lost their homes to coastal erosion. Twenty-eight new homes were built to replace 50 homes which were destroyed in the erosion in December last year in Khok Khean sub-district.

The Deputy Education Minister said the housing project was launched subsequently to help restore the livelihoods of people in the area. Many agencies took part in the project to make it possible for the residents to have new homes.

A vocational training program will be provided to Khok Khean residents to help them supplement their incomes during the monsoon season when they can’t leave the shore to find fish and crustaceans.
