Nong Khai 7/11 attack - a case of mistaken identity

NONG KHAI: -- A group of teenagers who attacked a man in a 7/11 at a PTT gas station in Nong Khai on Saturday morning admitted they got the wrong guy.

 

Tossaporn Hongsakham fled the chasing teenagers and hid out in the convenience store in the Tha Bor area. But one of the group attacked him in a sustained two minute attack in the store using a 30 centimeter long knife, reports Thai News Agency.

 

But the leader of the group, named only as "A", said he thought it was a rival from a previous incident but he realizes now that he was mistaken.

 

Nong Khai police chief Phaisan Leusomboon said that most of the gang aged 14, 15, two sixteen year olds, and 18 had been arrested already. They are all locals in Tha Bor.

 

The wielder of the knife, Nattawut Sukin, 20, is being hunted.

 

CCTV footage is clear and the teenagers arrested so far have all admitted what happened.

 

They had been in a roadside sala around midnight when Tossaporn rode by with a friend on the back of his bike. They chased him.

 

Tossaporn realizing he was in danger but not understanding why, fled to what he hoped was the sanctity of the 7/11 but was attacked in the store.

 

The leader of the teenage group then wheeled his bike away that had been parked outside the convenience store. It was found by police at a market nearby.

 

All those arrested so far have been charged with assault and theft as the hunt for Nattawut continues.

Midnight,14,15,16 year olds out carrying knives...the parents should be hauled up before the courts and charged with the crime as well...in this country they just have babies and that's job done.no parenting skills at all.they are left to watch violent video games and grow up like savages.i had a family day on Xmas day.2 types of children there.2 lovely little girls sat by their mother all day drinking water and being proper little angels.then 2 boys head straight to the pool table throwing the balls around,shouting and screaming,guzzling Coca Cola down,running around all hypa,rotten teeth.they only time they sat down was to play games on their phones and I bet they were not educational games.well you can guess who's not invited next time.
