Privy Council president gives blessings to Prime Minister and Cabinet

BANGKOK, 29 December 2016 (NNT) – The President of the Privy Council along with fellow councilors have offered encouragement to the Prime Minister and his Cabinet, bidding them success in their work for the nation and its people.

Prime Minister Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha has led members of his cabinet as well as the commanders of the armed forces to pay respects to Privy Council President Gen Prem Tinsulanonda on the occasion of the New Year. At their meeting, the premier assured he is always mindful of the honest work Gen Prem has performed and his devotion to the nation’s Royal Institution, he wished him good health and for His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej to grant him strength.

The Privy Council President thanked Gen Prayuth for his well wishes and commended his government for their tireless work over the past 2-3 years. He encouraged the prime minister to continue to dedicate himself and wished him success in the near future. He remarked that while work for the nation may not always be pleasant, it is always worthwhile and pointed out that in times of doubt he should look to King Rama IX, who worked for the Kingdom throughout his entire 70 year reign.

Of the remarks, the prime minister commented that he has never felt doubt while working for the nation but added he is sometimes irked by the press’ questions on his government’s roadmap.
