Chiang Mai hit by minor earthquakes

CHIANG MAI: -- Chiang Mai was rocked by seven minor earthquakes last night and early this morning, but there were neither damage to property nor injuries.

 

According to the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office in Chiang Mai, most of these minor earthquakes were felt in Chomthong district overnight until at dawn today.

 

The magnitudes of the earthquakes ranged from 1.1 to 2.0.

 

They happened at 9.57pm on Wednesday in Chomthong; at 2.55am on Thursday in Chomthong; at 3.01am in Doi Saket; at 3.51am in Mae Wang district; at 6.10am in Chomthong; at 6.33am in Mae Chaem; and, at 7am in Chomthong districts.

 

The epicentres of these small quakes were from one to five kilometres below the surface.

 

All have no impact on Mae Ngad dam which is in Mae Tang district.

I remember I was in Central Festival when there was an earthquake, I think in 2014. The building was brand new and it is huge but it started shaking like a deck of cards. I found it very amusing how people were running like ants, screaming. 

I stayed in a restaurant ,sipping my coffee and laughing my a$$ off.

And I say so too, about earthquakes !
Guess what, every day my prediction is  statistically more relevant.

But seriously, the lustre was not swinging that I noticed.
