Cambodia’s ambassador to South Korea has urged migrant workers to eat properly and look after their health, saying about 10 Cambodian workers died there of heart problems last year. Ambassador Long Dimanche said on a live video broadcast on the embassy’s social network that diplomats had investigated the reasons for migrants’ heart problems.

“Some of them did not take care of their health, especially in winter,” he said. Some people ate their meals irregularly and a lack of nutrition along with cold weather affected their health, he said.

Some workers ate only noodles because they thought it was cheap and easy, he said, and urged them to eat better food. He called on Cambodian people, especially workers in South Korea, to eat enough nutritious food such as meat, eggs and vegetables which makes them strong and able to beat the cold weather.
