Crash-prone bus companies warned

Featured Replies

The government’s National Road Safety Committee (NRSC) has issued warning letters to three transport companies involved in the highest number of traffic accidents last year, telling them to shape up or face suspension. Rith Mony Transport, Virak Buntham Express and 15 SH Transport were all named in the letter for causing a litany of accidents in 2016.

One of the biggest accidents last year involved a 15 SH Transport bus, which takes tourists from the capital to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. The bus hit a truck carrying garment workers in Svay Rieng province, leaving 20 dead and 19 injured. NRSC secretary-general Min Meanvy said the negligence of the drivers working for these companies cannot be allowed considering how many lives were lost in 2016 alone.

“We have appealed to each company to pay attention and advise their drivers to be careful. So if they still commit mistakes again, we will take strong action such as suspending their business,” she said. “But so far, we have instructed and warned them regularly and we hope that the driving of these three companies improves as well.”

Only warned??

You gotta be kidding me

Well this is how they roll here in Thailand to fix problems.

There's a perfect acronym for this: SNAFU = Situation Normal all F#@%&* Up!

It is Always a "Warning" isn't it?

Nothing as proactive as instituting mandatory rules for commercial drivers like European countries with log books, mandatory sleep time, equipment trip inspections and companies losing their operating licences.

This is a warning, stop it.

Yes, carry on killing people and we will be angry with you!

Roll up Roll up the circus is in town Big warning to all bus companies Break the rules and we let you go But we are warning you but dont take it to serious we dont mean what we say If we catch you we let you go anyway

Stop issuing Warnings, they don't care!!

Make the OWNERS of these Companies

criminally liable for deaths caused by their

employees, and for operating unsafe

buses, no monthly safety checks or allowing

drivers known to be drunks to operate

the buses.   Fines of a minimum of

B 10,000000 for each death is something

that they would UNDERSTAND!
