It’s civilians v troops on Koh Pich

Members of the public can test themselves against some of Cambodia’s finest troops on a commando course set up by the armed forces on Koh Pich this weekend. The Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) will hold their annual sports competition at the popular Phnom Penh venue this weekend and for the first time have invited members of the public to take part.
 

The competition will involve military training including commando exercises and obstacle courses. There will also be an exhibition of military equipment starting today. The competition has been held for 10 years, but this will be the first year that members of the public have been invited to join in.
 

While fears have been raised about the movement of troops and military equipment into Phnom Penh, senior armed forces members assured the public there was nothing to worry about. Lieutenant General Hun Manet, the eldest son of Prime Minister Hun Sen, assured citizens not to worry and called on the public to join in the RCAF’s annual competition.
