Mazda i-Activesense

Featured Replies

I'm looking at a new Mazda 3 with i-Activesense.

But, I wonder with all the motorcycles where I drive, would the beepers be going off all the time?

Does anyone have experience of this sensor system in Thailand?

Also, it has Auto city braking, but again, would the car brake everytime a motorbike nipped in front of me?

Thanks

The Laird

It only goes off if you turn signal in the direction that it detects an object, or if you're backing into approaching cross traffic. Has been unobtrusive for me (CX-5). I have yet to have auto city braking occur.

I-Activesense is a bundle of safety technologies. Not each Mazda model have the same set. The upcoming Mazda 3 will have to most, followed by the CX-5 and the CX-3.

We own both the CX-3 and the CX-5. I especially like the rear traffic cross alert and the blind spot monitoring. The latter helps a lot when changing lanes or turning (left). It very good warn from motorcycles which is very useful at night or heavy rain.

The city auto braking only works at low speeds (below 30 km/h?). A had some situations reacts when I come to close to a another vehicle. I was already braking and noise from the system is vey special.
