Those of you who follow Tech news closely have probably seen alot of James Kim on Cnet.com, The Screensavers, and various tech podcasts. This week James died while trying to save his family after they became stuck in the Oregon mountains during a heavy snowstorm. After being stranded for a week in the car with his wife, seven year old daughter, and six month old baby, James walked for miles through the snow, leaving signs and markers directing rescuers to his family. Several days later James' family was rescued by a search helocopter after being trapped for nine days.

Jim's body was discovered two days later, a half mile from the car he had nearly made it back to. His trail had taken him many miles through the dense forest, missing a fully stocked fishing lodge by less than a mile.

Jim is being morned by many in the tech community, and his heroism shouldn't go unmentioned.
