JC International Airlines will not start flying until April

A new Chinese-backed Cambodian airline has postponed its launch until April, the Phnom Penh Post reports. JC international Airlines was originally expected to commence operations this month, following the delivery of its first aircraft – an Airbus A320. But the company was reported saying on Friday that services would not start until April.

The airline will initially operate the A320 on domestic routes between Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Sihanoukville, before launching international flights. Part-owned by China’s Yunnan Jingcheng Group, which also operates Kunming-based Ruili Airlines, JC International Airlines is planning to fly to countries including Malaysia, Singapore and China. It will become Cambodia’s sixth airline.
