Server-based Or Disk-based?

Featured Replies

server-based or disk-based?

Developing a site and I am an amateur I must admit. Not so sure. I think disk based is better but uploading the site all over again onto the server may take hours or am I wrong here?

Anyone?

Thanks

I think you may need to look into your development method and terminology a little flo.

When you say 'Disk Based' are you talking about developing and testing on you local computer before deploying to your 'server based' solution i.e. your web host?

If that's what you mean then yes, developing and testing locally is generally a better idea but it doesn’t mean you have to set up your local test environment to roughly the same as the server you hope to deploy to.

Hope I understood and good luck :o
