The Appeals Court has upheld the lower court’s conviction and 4-year imprisonment of red-shirt firebrand Arisman Pongruangrong and 12 other red-shirt followers for the breakup of the Asean Summit in Pattaya eight years ago.

The verdict of the Appeals Court was read today (Tuesday) at Pattaya provincial court.

After the announcement of the verdict, relatives of Arisman put up a two-million baht surety for his bail while the others put up one-million baht each for the bail of the other convicts.

They might end up in jail in another 8 years,....or not.depends who is in Government.

regards worgeordie

Look at the time frame.

Something happened 8 years ago

A sentence have been made of 4 years imprisonment

The appeals court uphold the sentence

After that they are still free on bail, probably for another 2 years until another instance will say something

Now, that´s why it never happens anything........and this is just the tip of the iceberg!

If he absconds to, say, Singapore, (where he will have many friends) is the bail money forfeited?

how many bails can one really get?

I would love to have suthep join them too...

What happened to the yellow shirts..closing the airport....

Isn't his missus involved in the company at the center of some of the fake export order rice frauds?

Perhaps they can have adjoining cells?

What's next for him now, the Supreme Court? If they upheld the other court's verdict wonder if they'll increase the sentence for time wasting?

I wonder how many other legal systems in the world allow appeals to be made to a higher court just because you don't like the verdict!

I think Scotland has that system.

If you appeal do the assess the appeal request, then either confirm the appeal will be heard or deny it?

Or is it automatically heard?

Now that it seems Thailand's impartial judicial system has concluded this case maybe it can reach a verdict on the PAD leadership that led the occupation of Suvarnabhumi.
