PWA assures no significant documents damaged by fire

BANGKOK: -- The Provincial Water Authority (PWA) today dismissed ongoing speculation that the fire this week at its head office had destroyed significant documents that involved corruption that the Office of the Auditor-General is investigating.

 

The assurance from the PWA governor Seri Suphrathit came as speculation was rife that the documents that the OAG need in the investigation were burnt in  the fire.

 

He state that important documents being examined as part of an audit of the authority were not damaged by a fire that broke out at its headquarters on Monday and that the PWA will be able to provide its services as usual.

 

He confirmed that the documents were also copied for safekeeping, allowing for the audit to continue.
