BANGKOK: -- Media groups will join other civil organisations in sharing views on reconciliation with the government-initiated reconciliation preparation committee chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan.

The civil sector joined the talks this week and the media groups, including the Thai Journalists Association, the Thai Broadcast Journalists Association, the National Press Council, and others, are scheduled to meet the committee next Tuesday, said Maj-General Kongcheep Tantrawanich, chairman of the committee’s PR sub-panel.

Kongcheep said the talks had been “half-way” and urged all concerned not to frustrate the public with their comments outside the talks.

The Pheu Thai party last week submitted a letter proposing the disbanding of the committee and its sub-panels, calling instead for a fresh start of independent talks.

This has triggered exchanges that have shaken confidence in the government’s arrangement of talks.

really, would be a change if they are honest about it, all they usually do is make up/print stories that will sell papers/get more viewers for their respective employers, some honesty would be a real change and more than welcome even on this subject.

this picture..., just a second before they all start dancing "Gangnam Style". Oppa! :cowboy:

Don't overdo it guys the PM is waiting in the wings with his new "Gag Law" and he is just looking for an excuse to push it through. Don't give him a reason.

In fact given their  overall long-term lack of journalistic / reporting / follow up capability I have doubts that they can contribute anything insightful or valuable.
