Visa run without boarding plane - possible?

Featured Replies

I was wondering if anyone has tried: Can you do a visa run by booking and paying for an airplane ticket out and in on the same day and then after check-in and exit-immigration then instead of boarding the plane, go to arrival immigration? Of course as a courtesy tell at the gate that you will not board it, and you can even wait in the airport until your airplane should have returned (in the rare case where they want to see your ticket). Do they check stamps from other countries? And what if you went to a country where you don't get a stamp?

You need a stamp at your destination if I'm not mistaken.

No you can't!

You have to go out of country to some other country. It's not enought just to leave the country.

You have to leave country. Entry another country. Leave that country. And re-enter first country.

Eg. you have to have Laos visa in your passport (with entry and leave date).

Outbound and inbound passengers are segregated too - How would you get from the Departures area downstairs to Arrivals?

Doing what you suggest is neither legal, nor is it possible. You will find that air-side passengers cannot even normally move from the departure to the arrival area of the airport.

Thanks Immigration may ask for the boarding pass stub of your return flight if they suspect that you did not fly out and back and if you don't have it, check the passenger list.
