PARIS (Reuters) - Investors will not pull their money from France if it leaves the euro, according to Marine Le Pen, the far-right presidential candidate who pledges to call a referendum and restore the national franc currency if elected.

In an interview on Sud Radio and TV channel Public Senat, Le Pen said that, if elected on May 7, she would open talks with the rest of the European Union and organise a referendum within six months.

"At the end of the six months, it will be the French people who decide," she said, adding that this would allow France to see the outcome of elections in Germany and Italy too.

"There's so much liquidity in the world that they are not going to pull their chips out of France, above all when France will once again be back on the road of economic growth," said the leader of the anti-immigrant, anti-European Union and anti-euro National Front party.

"They are worried because they know they will no longer be able to make the profits they made previously"... The world has changed and that's what's worrying them. The world is moving away from free trade and laisser faire policy."

Financial sector supervisors from the European Central Bank have asked banks to keep all scenarios in mind including how they would respond to a Le Pen win and/or the market impact that could follow any better-than-expected score in round one.

Le Pen is predicted by opinion polls to make it through the April 23 first round to the May 7 vote that pits the two highest scoring candidates against each other. They show her losing the decider to favourite Emmanuel Macron, who is staunchly pro-euro.

One of Le Pen's flagship promises is to take France out of what she called "the prison" of European Union politics and the currency that 19 of the 28 EU countries share.

She has said she will negotiate to restore French national sovereignty and, if unhappy with the way those talks go, call a referendum where French voters decide on EU and euro membership.

In Tuesday's interview she signalled that that referendum would be called either way, within six or seven months.

"There will be a referendum in any case," she said, adding that, assuming she was president, she would step down if her proposal in that popular vote was not supported.

When are the private banks going to realize that the old system, which they are part of is already crumbling???

They are going down with it so there's really no need to struggle.

The EURO is part of the old system? It's not even 20 years old yet. You must be very young.

What's old is the currency, son. The idea of currency to control people. Who cares that it got a new name: euro. It could be called cookie for all I care with my grandma's face on it. Makes no difference.

But yes I am young but what does my age have to do with this? Nothing.

Le Pen also promised to demobilise the French military. Every other country has sent their soldiers to defend our country since Napoleon met Wellington. Why should we have a military if other nations send soldiers to die for our freedom she is reported as saying. She also promised to give every citizen a white flag and flags of any nation that was a potential threat to France. A flag making manufacturing sector will bring jobs, growth and security to all citizens. Vive la France

She is right, the same story with brexit. Scare the people with any tactic possible. What do you think the banks will do pull out and lose their money. Not a chance they will adapt and continue to rip people off whether it is the Franc, Euro or any other currency.

I think Brexit and electing Trump brought voters up a little short in their thinking for change. There was a bit of a lash back in the Netherlands and La Pen could be walking into a vacuum on the topic. She is polled? to loose the second round but things are really volatile at this point. If your betting on this your bookie may turn down your bet.

This sounds like goldbuggery to me. which systme is a lot lot older than paper currency and was called by John Maynard Keynes a barbarous relic.

And Keynsians are also a relic. Unless you view the world through ideology. Which you seem to do.

Okay then forget the word, currency. The idea of introducing an artificial element as a middleman between humans is a way to control them. Therefore is not needed. That might be the reason the economy is collapsing.

So your objection isn't to the Euro, per se, it's to all "artificial elements"?  Are you advocating a return to the barter system? As in, I'll trade you my cow for your iphone?
