well i think a driving car would be the wrong place for meditation,

but maybe i am wrong

my meditation always start after having some drinks

and drunk driving is not allowed, so i guess i  will never find out.

Many seem to be there on a very temporary basis to satisfy tradition, or to escape the real world with all its problems, or just to make money.

The non-genuine monks do the reputation of all the others no good at all and do a great disservice to Buddhism, which, exercised properly, seems to me to be a great way to live one's life.   Unfortunately, there does not seem to be much evidence of true Buddhism

in Thailand just now.

It's important to distinguish  between Theravada Buddhism and "Thai Buddhism".

Its a fascinating subject and history walk that will lead right up and into the modern day eccentricities present in externalized/ socialized and Nationalized forms of contemporary Thai-Buddhism.

 

Reflections of true Buddhist practice (Dharma) may still be found in the 'Forest Monk' traditions.
