Hi. Flying BKK to Heathrow tomorrow night with Gulf Air and as I have never flown them before was wondering if everything is straightforward with the transit process.

Is there a transit desk to find or is it a simple walk through to the connecting gate?

Simple walk-through with a scan of your hand luggage of course. No need to attend a transit desk, you'll be given both boarding passes at check-in.

I have happy memories of many years ago, sitting in the restaurant upstairs tucking into thick-slices of grilled-ham with fried-eggs & chips, and looking out the window to see Concorde landing !

 

The plastic-dustbin by the lift-doors, overflowing with ice & cans of beer, was indeed a welcome sight for us thirsty-expats, on our way out of the sand-pit to Bangkok, too ! 

 

I wonder if it's still like that ?

will tell you what its like its freezing !!  never ever have i been in an airport so cold......on the way home wore a jacket and was still cold !!
