I have  a Non - O visa that finishes about 28 July but a stamp to do a border run by 13th July, i also have a work permit that will need to be renewed around 10th August.

Normally what i do is go get a new 12 month visa before the work permit expires and then renew and everything is fine but this time what i would like to do is to go do a border run on 13th so I get a further 90 days and then renew my work permit during the 90 days and after that go to Laos and get a new visa.

 

So will the labour dept renew a work permit if the visa has expired but still have around 2 months validaty on a exit stamp?

The are only interested in seeing that you have a valid entry from your non-o visa. Not the expiration date of the visa itself.
