Though he already had an offer for the land he owned in the village of Na Bin La, in Trang province, a sweet old man named Thong Kongkaew, 91, decided to donate it instead to build a road that will save local residents lots of time when traveling between his village and the next one, called Na Yong Tai.

The man, a farmer, owns 16 rai of land and is nicknamed Great Grandpa Thong by locals.
