skeedary Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 I am due to visit the Australian Embassy Bangkok this week to get a Stat Dec for income for Retirement Visa Extension. Pleased I looked at Thai Visa as I see that the embassy has relocated and now I have the new address. Also read that the embassy now requires proof of income for the Statuary Declaration. Could someone advise if this is correct. Thanks
ubonjoe Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 They are not asking for the proof of income now. They posted the requirement on there website in March or so and took it down a few weeks later. I assume you you have seen this topic about the embassy move that has maps as well as the address.

Yes I did see the instructions, thanks for that. Looks like not too far from the old one. I am flying in so will get a cab. Also thanks for the update on the Stat Dec requirements.
skeedary Posted August 7, 2017 Author Posted August 7, 2017 Rethinking the cab from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Australian Embassy. Could someone suggest the BTS route instead. Thanks

ubonjoe Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 You could take the airport rail link to the Makkasan station and then the MRT (subway) to the Lumpini station that is a short walk from the embassy. Map: http://www.transitbangkok.com/lines/Bangkok MRT/MRT

You need to be at CW before 9.30 AM to lodge your document if you require same day service otherwise it is back to collect it after 2.30 PM the next day. _____ There is the option of having it mailed to you if you didn't want to hang around. I suggest you inform the desk when lodging that you wish to take this step....they do not offer 'suggestions'. I wasn't asked for 'proof of income' last week although I had it on hand..it took 5 min. Proof of your income is not needed. Only 3 or 4 offices want the signature on the stat dec verified at the department of consular affairs of the MFA.

Might be helpful if we knew which Immigration office the OP is submitting the 'stat dec' to, so as to avoid a possible return trip to Bangkok.

Most of the offices that want it are on the outskirts of Bangkok. Phetchaburi is only office that is not on the outskirts that wants it.
