Chonburi:--Khao Kheow Open Zoo has unveiled a new display zone called Forest of Asia.

In his opening speech, Director of the Thailand Zoological Park Organization Benchapol Nakprasert, mentioned the role of Khao Kheow Open Zoo as a model of zoological management and said that Forest of Asia was expected to raise public awareness of the importance of wildlife and forest conservation.

The new display zone offers visitors the opportunity to get a close look at rare wild animals such as Himalayan marten, black giant squirrel, grey-shanked douc, Siamese fireback and false gharial.

This is a very nice place to take your children to, i have taken my son to this zoo a few times.

I didnt know about this zoo, will make it a weekend trip soon.

Probably the best of a bad bunch. It is not quite as open as you might think. Big cats were caged when I was there a couple of years ago and you could pay to feed them meat on a metal spike. Site is home to Flight of the Gibbon, if you are feeling daring. I reccommend the aviary.

I imagine it is busy at weekend, much quieter on weekdays.
