A temple in Ayutthaya was damaged by fire early Friday.

The fire started in the monks' living quarters at Wat Roi Rai in Ayutthaya’s Nakhon Luang district at 4am and it spread to the prayer hall.

Firefighters took about an hour to control the blaze.

The living quarters were burned down, leaving only poles.

The temple accommodates six monks.
