BANGKOK: -- More than 67,000 people fell sick from influenza from Jan 1 until Aug 15 and, of these, 10 of them died, according to Dr Jesada Chokedamrongsook, director-general of Diseases Control Department.

 

The infection was mostly found within 15-24 age group followed by 10-14 and 25-34 age groups respectively.  And the top five provinces with high incidence of infection are Rayong, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chanthaburi and Lamphun.

 

Dr Jesada, however, noted that it was found out this week that group patients who developed symptoms similar to influenza symptoms were reported in Bangkok and Tak province and, of the group patients, two have died.
