2 Federal Agents Named in Fatal Shooting of Pretti

Shocking Twist in Minneapolis Tragedy

Two federal agents have been named in the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti in Minneapolis. ProPublica reports that government documents identify the shooters as Jesus Ochoa, a border patrol agent, and Raymundo Gutierrez, an officer with Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

The tragic confrontation unfolded last weekend, leaving Pretti dead and igniting a firestorm of protests. Calls for criminal investigations into federal immigration actions have surged. The Trump administration's false claims about the incident have added fuel to the fire.

Both agents were involved in Operation Metro Surge, a sweeping immigration enforcement drive launched in December. Armed, masked agents, including Ochoa and Gutierrez, were part of a citywide operation in Minneapolis.

Despite public outcry, CBP has refused to release the agents' names or further details. The agency’s silence has only intensified scrutiny, especially since this occurred days after another agent shot a protester, Renee Good. The secrecy around Pretti's death highlights the contentious debate over Trump’s immigration policies.

Lawmakers across the aisle are now demanding transparency. They’re pushing for a thorough investigation into Pretti's killing. At 37, Pretti was an ICU nurse at a Veterans Affairs hospital, a fact that adds to the tragedy.

This week, CBP informed select Congress members that two agents fired Glock pistols in the incident. However, the agents' names were omitted. The Department of Homeland Security, overseeing CBP, disclosed that Ochoa and Gutierrez are on leave.

Public protests and increasing lawmaker pressure have resulted in the justice department launching a civil rights investigation.

Records reveal Ochoa started with CBP in 2018, while Gutierrez joined in 2014. Gutierrez is part of a special response team for high-stakes operations. Both hail from south Texas, trained for challenging missions.

Key Takeaways

  • Two agents identified in Pretti’s shooting.

  • CBP maintains silence, drawing criticism.

  • Justice department opens civil rights probe.

If that's what you want to think, sure.
The truth is, nearly all posters here want illegals deported, especially the criminals. However at present it's not about criminals getting deported, it's about sowing fear.

Pathetic.

Convicted seditionist, Enrique Tarrio, was the leader of the Proud Boys (designated in Canada as a terrorist organisation) and is of Cuban origin.

Enrique Tarrio is a Latino and Proud Boys is labelled as white supremacist who hold believes that white people are inherently superior and should dominate other races. White nationalists have the same believes but go further for a whites only country. Both ideologies are linked calling for white surpremacy.

Latinos aren't white except for when it comes to dodgy crime figures.

The motives behind the Liberal faux outrage have been well and truly exposed and you know it. 😄

There is no faux outrage over the murder of Alex Pritti, and the outrage is far from restricted to Liberals.

I was talking about the faux outrage of Trump deporting illegal immigrants.

But you already knew that...

What are you not getting? No one has an issue with deporting illegal immigrants (especially the dangerous, criminal type) but it's how you go about it. The photo above (thank you BLMFem) aptly shows you the difference between ICE agents of the past, rightly dressed in non-combat outfits with just a logo and a badge to denote their authority and the ICE of today, a masked, out of control militia. ICE of the past quietly went about their business, targeting undesirables and using due process through the courts and legal process and importantly, they didn't harass US citizens and certainly didn't pump 3 to 10 shots into them. And as the numbers show (from your own ill-advised meme), this was obviously more effective than Trumps ICE of today.

The outrage is real because the methods are so inhumane and obviously racist. The outrage is real bacause the deaths are real.

Obviously the heat is on for the likes of Noem now as she is exposed for the lying, racist she is. Her attempted whitewash (pun intended) of calling the dead, US citizens 'domestic terrorists' and trying to point out that ICE was acting in 'fear of their lives' isn't washing anymore as people can literally see the truth of what happened - well apart of course from Yagoda, JonnyF, Dinsdale, Impulse and Yellowtail who still refuse to believe their own ears and eyes.

'Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem wrote on social media Monday that in the name of transparency, her department would “immediately” deploy body cameras to all ICE and Border Patrol officers operating in Minneapolis as part of the administration’s crackdown in the Twin Cities.' https://www.politico.com/news/2026/02/02/ice-cbp-minneapolis-body-cameras-00760996

The reason there are conflicts is because the likes of Renee Good are blocking them doing their jobs and then hitting them with their vehicles.

This Pretti guy turns up armed.

If you Libs let the authorities do their job like you did with Obama and Clinton there would be none of these issues. But because it's Trump your mob lose your minds and end up trying to kill ICE agents which generally doesn't end well.

You're obsessed. Like little kids who can't get their own way and throw their toys out of the pram. Spitting the dummy. Grow up. You pretended Biden was sharp as a tack and then ran with DEI Harris and got it handed to you. Poor decisions and lies have consequences. Try to learn from it.

And as I said page 1 this topic:

As with the Good case, if the state charged the 2 officers in Pretti shooting with state criminal charges, the first thing the defense would do is motion to have the case moved to federal court and plead immunity.

Civil charges esp. wrongful death at the state or federal level are not subject to Presidential pardon.

Let us hope the process to convict these domestic terrorists does not begin until Trump is out of office, so that the convictions will stick and these murderous goons will be locked up for decades. How ironic that they are both of Latino descent.

Anyone who believes that Renee Good or Pretti deserved what they got is just delusional or in your case, obviously blinded by their own prejudice to the point they can't see straight. Both situations could have been easily de-escalated, both did not require American citizens to be gunned down in the street. And just because someone has a gun, doesn't mean they get 10 bullets pumped into them AFTER the gun has been removed!!

But you keep towing the party line and waiting for your instructions to how to keep defending the indefensible (Fox News, Newsmax, NY Post, Noem and of course Trump himself) even though those feeding you the propoganda are now back-tracking furiously in their usual frantic attempt to stop being thrown under the bus. They know what really happened and they've also know the outcome of the sayinng 'you can fool some of the people some of the time...............................'

These two officers will be charged and receive lengthy prison sentences once Trump is out of office and the currently ridiculous DOJ begins acting with integrity again.

Then I suggest that the killer of Ashli Babbitt be brought before a neutral jury and judge for trial. I wait... No such thing in DC.

True, @JerryM , but they can be charged by the state, which becomes a problem, although, I don't know the counters for that.

As President Trump has stated he did not want people to die. Sadly 2 people did.

A State prosecution moved to a Federal court remains a State Prosecution.

State charges that are moved to Federal court are not subject to Presidential pardons.

If the left stopped supporting and encouraging the demonstrations then there would be no need for all this conflict.

ICE could do the job they are paid to do. But no, they have to be armed because of the threat from demonstrators pose.

The left should be held responsible for the deaths.

This is how the law works.

The person doing the killing is responsible for the killing.

Once you’ve grasped that we can move on the the constitutional right to protest.

You are very naive.

These aren't protests. They are deliberate acts to promote a reaction for purely political means.
