I've enjoyed posting on these forums for the past 12 years and just wanted to post thanks to everyone, friends, enemies, and the moderation team. I fully understand my behaviour in the forums is sometimes unduely agressive and stalkerish, but as i get older it becomes harder to control myself in a suitable manner.

So I'll not be using the discussion forums or news forums any more, or posting in the future.

I'll miss you, but I feel your pain

I kind of restrict myself to food / health and O&A, of late, as the rest really doesn't interest me. I can scroll through 12 hrs of threads in about 5 mins now

I did the exact same thing many months ago, but nobody seems to realize that I actually left because this is the AI version of myself that I uploaded permanently to the site before I checked out, just to keep my spirit alive on the forum. How lucky for them all.

came back ,been on here for far too long to kick the habit ,although it is no

Mate, some blokes give their minger a proper goodbye when they dump her. Others wait till she’s still spark out, sling their hook, slip out the front door and never look back. Thanks for the heads up, it would have been noticed. I can think of two other active long term members that just disappeared with no evidence they came back under new names. But in those cases their posting history suggested they very well could have been arrested for, let me put it gently, "crimes of moral turpitude."

12 years of posting on this place reminiscing of the 12 years before that when life was great then he found this forum and probably realized today he could have been using the time spent here doing more enjoyable stuff. I never skipped by your posts. Many times I disagreed with whatever it was that may have said, however I respected that you usually made it a point to make a case for whatever opinion you expressed rather than just bleating unsupported tropes and cliches.

Sadly many 'discussion' forums have devolved into shouting matches, not just Asean Now.

Reddit has some value though it does cater to a much younger demographic. The "Thailand" sub is pretty lively with a fair distribution of some very knowledgeable commenters as well as the usual asshats. The Pattaya sub revolves more around the local game.

I don't remember trolling be such an issue back then as it is now. Also back then it would never have entered my thoughts that some members might actually be CCP bots. In my memory there was a definite membership change when ThaiVisa was taken over and moderation changed.
