Trump Pauses Iran Strike Threat After ‘Very Good’ Talks, Grants Five-Day Window

President Donald Trump has delayed planned military action against Iran, citing what he described as “very good” and productive talks between the two sides.

The decision temporarily suspends a previous threat to target Iranian power plants if Tehran fails to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a key global energy route.

Strike Threat Put on Hold

Trump said he would allow a five-day window for further diplomatic engagement before considering any escalation.

The move marks a shift in tone after recent warnings of imminent strikes, raising cautious hopes that tensions could ease.

Oil Prices Fall on Diplomatic Signal

Global markets reacted quickly to the development, with oil prices dropping sharply following the announcement.

Traders appeared to interpret the delay as a sign that a broader de-escalation of the conflict may be possible.

The Strait of Hormuz remains central to the crisis, as it handles a significant share of the world’s oil shipments.

Disruptions there have already contributed to rising energy costs and market volatility in recent weeks.

Iran Maintains Retaliation Warnings

Despite the pause, Iranian officials have reiterated threats of retaliation if attacked. Tehran has warned it could target energy infrastructure across the region and potentially deploy naval mines to block access to the Persian Gulf.

Such actions would risk widening the conflict and further disrupting global energy supplies.

Fighting Continues Across Region

Hostilities have persisted despite diplomatic efforts. Reports indicate that strikes continued in Tehran, while Saudi Arabia said it intercepted two ballistic missiles aimed at its capital, Riyadh.

The overall death toll in Iran and Lebanon has risen into the thousands since the conflict began, highlighting the human cost of the ongoing war.

The coming days are expected to be critical as diplomatic efforts continue alongside ongoing military activity.

You have to be kidding surely. Iran lying? Unheard of. Part of warfare is information warfare. The now 2nd and 3rd tier leadership cannot appear weak.

Trump lying is definitely heard of.

With a regularity in perfect synch with his lips moving.

Why on earth would Iran negotiate right now, when they are in such a strong position, which will get much stronger next week? They know that US/Israel are in trouble. US/Israel have run out of defensive munitions, and their allies are sitting ducks. Iran's missiles are smashing Israels military targets with impunity. US/Israel cannot find military targets, and their bombs are ineffective against Iranian underground facilities. Iranian munitions are cheap and can be produced quickly. US munitions that they give to Israel for free, are hugely expensive and are slow to produce. Iran just has to wait patiently and squeeze a little, wait more, then squeeze a little, and so on. US will be on its knees soon enough.

More importantly, this war is a HUGE propaganda success for the arab world. Iran has fought with honor. Look at how few civilian casualties they have inflicted, and for each casualty there was a US/Israel military interest associated. Compare that to the indiscriminate mass murder of Israel. Arabs and neutrals are cheering on, and inspired by Iran.

The idea that Iran would talk right now is ridiculous.

When Trump announced the possibility of hits on energy targets all the Trump haters on here were frothing at the mouth. Now he says it's been put off because bilateral talks are positive all the Trump haters on here are frothing at the mouth. Insane.

You need to swap haters for observers…..lie is what trump does stop being duped and try to realize that people have solid concrete valid factual reasons to call out this man.Notice that Iran continues to be on the attack.unfortunately like it or not trump is obviously lying that shouldn’t surprise you or anyone else for that matter. No lucid human being would take trump at his word he has EARNED that reputation.

"The US president's statements are part of efforts to reduce energy prices and gain time for the implementation of his military plans. Regional countries have taken initiatives to reduce tensions, and our response to all of them is clear: we are not the party that started this war, and all such requests should be directed to Washington"

Spot on Connda - Trump is probably playing for time.

Marines and Para have been mobilized, probably as part of plans to invade Kharg Island or maybe mainland Iran.

Iran holds out and is still able to attack the USA,, Israel and it's neighbours. It's a nightmare that might be going to get much worse. Trump is maniacal !

Agree. However the worse will be Trump sending American sons and daughters to fight and die for Israel and Saudi Arabia.
