Trump Says US-Iran Deal Set for Sunday Signing

President Donald Trump has said a deal aimed at ending hostilities between the United States and Iran is due to be signed on Sunday, although Iranian officials have questioned whether the agreement will be finalised that quickly.

In a social media post on Saturday, Trump said the agreement was scheduled to be signed the following day and claimed the Strait of Hormuz would reopen to international shipping immediately afterward.

“The Deal is scheduled to get signed tomorrow, and immediately after it is signed, the Hormuz Strait is OPEN TO ALL,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Iran Questions Timeline

Despite the optimism from Washington, Iran indicated that the timing remains uncertain.

Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said a memorandum of understanding was expected, but cautioned against assuming an immediate signing.

“We will have to wait and see about the exact date of the signing of the memorandum of understanding, although it will not be tomorrow,” Baghaei said.

Trump also referred to Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium, stating that once conditions stabilise, the United States would retrieve what he described as “Nuclear Dust” and later destroy it.

He further warned that if the process did not proceed “quickly, easily and smoothly”, the US had “the ultimate alternative”, which he said he hoped would never be required.

Pakistan Signals Progress

Pakistan, which has played a mediating role in the talks, also suggested an agreement was close.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said preparations were under way for an electronic signing of the deal, with finalisation expected within 24 hours.

“With finalisation likely expected in the next 24 hours, Pakistan is preparing for the electronic signing of the peace deal immediately after, followed by technical level talks next week,” Sharif wrote on X.

On Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said an agreement with the US had “never been closer”.

Deal Details Emerge

According to Araghchi, the proposed deal would end the conflict involving Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon, reopen the Strait of Hormuz and lift a US blockade on Iranian ports.

He said negotiations over Iran’s nuclear programme would be addressed at a later stage.

US officials have confirmed some aspects of the proposed agreement, while stressing that economic benefits for Iran would depend on Tehran fulfilling its commitments.

Previous reports from the United States suggested Lebanon might not be included in the arrangement, while Iran had reportedly pushed for its inclusion.

Several earlier attempts to finalise a similar agreement have failed during the final stages of negotiations.

Conflict Continues Despite Ceasefire

The current conflict began on 28 February when US and Israeli forces launched strikes across Iran. Tehran responded with attacks against Israel and US-aligned Gulf states, while effectively shutting the Strait of Hormuz, a vital route for global oil and liquefied natural gas shipments.

Although the two sides agreed to a ceasefire in April, intermittent exchanges of fire have continued. This week alone saw two rounds of retaliatory strikes between the US and Iran.

I agree that the poster is a joke but that poster has no sense of humor and from this angle it’s pretty funny and pathetically disingenuous at the same time and no different than the rest of the liberals here who obsessively announce Trump did this! Trump said that! Oh my freaking god the world is going to end!!! Now let’s just sum it up here and call it like it is that the progressive liberals are just plain freaking loony crazy.

Loony crazy?

Goodness, that's the defining characteristic of Trumpers.

When Trump stole all classified documents and kept them in the open at his wedding planner facility, Trump not only said he "declassified them with his mind" (there is a set procedure for declassification, and mind control is not it), but also said "the FBI planted them". Trumpers believe both. THAT is loony crazy.

Now the acronym HCS might not mean anything to you, but it does to folks in the intel community. It means Human Clandestine Sources. In other words, foreigners risking their lives and the lives of their families to provide secrets to agency case officers. Trump stole lists of the agencies most sensitive assets. Some assets had to be ex-filled as part of the damage control, lest they be killed. There is no doubt Trump intended to monetize those documents. Friggin traitor. If not for a captured Judge in Florida (Eileen Cannon), Trump would likely be living out his remaining miserable days in Leavenworth.

Oh, and he absolutely, 100% cooperated with Russia during the 2016 Campaign. Even Marco Rubio agrees. I seriously doubt you know the whole story of that cooperation, but soon I will post a thread detailing its genesis, as what I thought remained classified has appeared in some open source material.

Finally, as for this stupid war, it is 100% Trump's fault for quashing the 100% effective JCPOA, which restricted Iran to 300kg of 3% enriched U235. They did no additional enrichment until Trump tossed out the JCPOA, nor did they still possess the quality of high speed centrifuges they would need to enrich to a higher degree. After Trump tossed the JCPOA, they obtained some HSCs and got up to 60%---which is still a far cry from the 93% necessary for a bomb. Contrary to Trump's lies, Iran was not "weeks away" from a bomb.

Do you have a valid link for this ridiculous claim?

You can see the paper trail from the various times since 28 February, when major trades were entered minutes before a Trump Tweet that moved the markets. In any honest Administration, the SEC would investigate, as the identity of the trader (their profits over a 20 minute period were some $3-4 billion) is easy to determine, using exchange records. Sadly the current head of the SEC is loyal to Trump, not to the US Constitution. He is also a 2020 election denier, which is why he got the job.

No MOU being signed today as per the Iran FM Spokesman.

"We will have to wait and see about the exact date of the signing of the memorandum of understanding, although it will not be tomorrow... The possibility of this happening in the coming days cannot be ruled out."

IMHO, there will be no deal in the next few days.

I’ve looked at what Trump says and have learned to expect the opposite, it’s a strategy that works.

It has worked for the last 39 or 40 times he’s declared the war won.

You've got it wrong. The US and Trump will SAY that Iran has reneged and will bomb Iran after Trump cashes in on his market shorts. Then he'll SAY that "The US Has Won," and "We'll Sign Another Agreement Tomorrow," and "The Strait Will Be Opened," as he cashes in by buying the dip.

along with his billionaire buddies and family who are privy to insider info and the timing of the trump daily spew of lies....fool me once shame on you fool me over and over and over....maga maga maga

"We've got a deal," times 40. Or is it times 41? I've lost count.

In the meanwhile, Iran is about to launch a counter-attack against Israel for its bombing of downtown (civilian) Beirut. So? Anyone really think there is going to be "a deal"? At this rate they won't even get to signing an MOU. An why not? Israel doesn't want an end to war. They just want the entire Middle East to be a caldron of chaos (in my opinion).

Iranian Deputy FM Gharibabadi affirms that a memorandum of understanding (MOU) will be signed in Switzerland on Friday.

In the meanwhile Iran is responding to the latest Israeli bombing of Beirut Lebanon. Note item number 1: "Permanent and immediate end to war on all fronts, including Lebanon."

In my humble opinion, the MOU may never be signed because Israel (Netanyahu) has already stated that the IDF isn't leaving Lebanon and Israeli strikes into Lebanon continue. That will probably derail the entire process before Friday rolls around. Guess well see on Friday.
