UK Asylum Seeker Guide Covers Sex, Consent, Gender Equality

The Home Office has published new behavioural guidance for asylum seekers in England and Wales, setting out how laws and social customs in the UK may differ from those in their countries of origin.

The nine-page booklet has been uploaded online and covers issues including respect in public, sex and consent, and gender equality. It also explains that asylum seekers may face consequences if they break UK law, including effects on their asylum claim and support while their case is considered.

Guidance Warns of Legal Consequences

The document states that the impact of breaching UK rules can range from police involvement to the loss of asylum support, and that it could also “affect” an applicant’s asylum claim.

A Home Office spokesman said the department expects people coming to the UK to follow UK laws, adding that failure to do so can lead to “consequences”, including the refusal of an asylum claim and removal from the country.

The booklet was published as latest Home Office statistics show that 93,525 people applied for asylum in the UK between April 2025 and March 2026, down by 12% compared with the previous year.

The Home Office said removals of failed asylum seekers have reached their highest level since 2010 under the current government.

Gender, Sex and Consent Sections Included

A section on gender explains that women in the UK have equal rights with men and do not need permission from a husband, father, brother or any other man to work, study, travel or make decisions.

The booklet’s section on sex and consent states that both people must agree to sexual activity or any sexual contact. It adds that consent cannot be given if someone is asleep, drunk, or unable to respond.

Respect in Public and Support Details

Another section, titled Respect in Public, says it is not acceptable to whistle or make kissing noises at people in the street. It also warns against making sexual comments to someone, even if the person making the comment believes it is a compliment.

The guidance also includes contact details for organisations providing support for victims and people seeking help with the issues raised in the document.

Opposition Criticises, Labour Declines Comment

The Conservatives said asylum seekers who break UK law should be deported. Reform UK said the publication showed the government “knows that they are a menace”.

Shadow home secretary Chris Philp said the approach should focus on deportations rather than trying to train asylum seekers to behave differently. In remarks cited from earlier comments, he argued that communities were not integrating properly, leaving what he described as “backwards” standards to persist.

Reform UK’s home affairs spokesman Zia Yusuf posted a two-minute video on social media describing the booklet as “a disgrace”. He said the government had published what he characterised as a guide for illegal migrants on what he said people should not do, including committing sexual offences and other violent behaviour.

A Labour spokesperson declined to comment. The Liberal Democrats and the Green Party were contacted for comment.

Separate government figures cited by the Home Office show nearly 70,000 illegal migrants and foreign criminals have been returned or deported since Labour came to power in July 2024. The BBC reported that nearly 10,000 foreign criminals, including murderers and rapists, have been removed since the last election, a 36% increase compared with the previous 21 months.

That's not the facts just fashion speech to discredit all Asylums seekers. So sad

Throughout history Lines have had to be drawn for people's safety, so whilst not everybody with 51 mg of alcohol in their blood is a danger on the roads, the very low limit has been set in the interests of safety, but if it saves one person from getting killed then its considered worthwhile by society and accepted

Not everybody carrying a knife or a gun is planning on stabbing or shooting somebody, but possession of such Items is generally forbidden or at a minimum very tightly controlled, again. if it prevents one person from getting stabbed or shot its generally accepted as a positive by society and accepted

Not everybody arriving on a small boat is a rapist or indeed a genuine asylum seeker, However, none of those destroying their passports have any valid reasons for doing so except to hide where they have come from and possibly make any criminal record checks impossible. They can't be vetted and so they should not be admitted and if it prevents one person from being raped or murdered then its worthwhile, in the opinion of any right minded person .

So how many of the invading savages do you consider to be genuinely seeking "asylum" and have no intention of raping or murdering ? in truth you, just like me , have absolutely no idea whatsoever, I prefer to err on the side of caution, for the safety of the UK citizens, You clearly have not given the matter any thought at all except to use it as an excuse to virtue signal. and you have ended up looking rather silly

F, all the ilegal immigrants, they should be arrested the moment the set foot on our shores with out the correct paper work.

They have committed an offence so why are they not arrested on sight? Talk about "sending out the wrong signals" then again , when did a lefty government ever send out the correct signals ?

So here’s the bit that matters.

Prior to the publication of this guide there was not information and instruction given to asylum seekers.

Mind, it seems that a few expats among the membership of this forum might, on the basis of their posting history, benefit from a copy of this guide, if/when they return to the UK.

1000s of men arriving yearly need to be told the way to act in a civil legal manner .

They need to be told not to rape children .

They do not know that already , they need to be told its wrong .

Will they listen to what a bit of paper says or will they continue living their countries cultural ways and continue to rape ?

Raping is against laws in their home countries. Of course they know this, same as you.

At present I don't know any country where raping is allowed.

Do you know one?

But you seem to want to avoid using math for any kind of statistical analysis.

Why is that?

If the math shows that immigrants commit fewer sexual assaults per capita, let them stay. If it shows otherwise, send them all back to the filthy hellholes that they hail from. Doesn’t matter the race or religion. Country by country basis. Include “white” immigrants too so there won’t be any hint of racism.

I really don't know what you want. I gave official figures, I don't have others.

They are not in their home countries though are they ? They consider non muslims as dogs, unfit to judge them and do not consider themselves subject to our laws. Their males consider non muslim women as worse than whores,

When two young illegals received a non custodial sentence for the rape of a school girl and posting images of the assault on social media I 'd say that sends out the signal that whilst its not exactly allowed it is barely frowned upon

Although in fairness I did hear that the sentence was increased on appeal after complaints from racists

It just proves that whoever said Brexit would solve the immigration problem didn't have a clue what he was talking about, it made it far worse.

Open borders have got nothing to do with Brexit so leave that alone Bannoi before you go off topic.

Brexit cannot be blamed for open borders, as the UK never participated in the EU's passport-free Schengen Area and retained full control over its own national borders. However, leaving the EU ended the Dublin Regulation, removing the UK's legal framework to return asylum seekers to EU nations, which some critics link to subsequent small boat crossings. We must have monet to Burn. It's being reported now that the government are translating all the pamhlets given out, a few thousand i would imagine paid by you. Cough up there reprinting them all again but heres the catch. The Telegraph that broke the story yesterday asked the home office what countrys will be translated Somali. Eretrean. Afgahn, Syria, the Government refused to answer. So remember the next time a few move next door to you don't let your kids out, and chaperone the missus when she goes to Asda.

Your contribution pattern on this thread is clear. One-line dismissals, no data (and you ignore when the correct one handed to you), no engagement with the actual point, then disappearance when pressed.

You were shown the Home Office is printing official leaflets explaining rape, consent and gender equality to asylum seekers.

Your response was to wave it away as “nonsense” or “fashion speech” without addressing why the state felt the need to produce them in the first place.

You were asked about per-capita rates and statistical analysis. You answered with “I gave official figures” and then went quiet on the comparison.

You were challenged on the difference between domestic offenders and large numbers of young male arrivals from cultures with very different norms around women. You replied with short denials and moved on.

This is not debate "newbee" but it’s "drive-by posting". You drop a one-liner avoiding the substance and when the reply requires actual argument or numbers you vanish or change the subject.

One-line brush-offs followed by silence are not a position they’re just noise.

Section 3.1:

"In the UK it is not allowed to indiscriminately thrust a large knife into members of the public.

This is called 'stabbing'. Stabbing a large number of people may affect your asylum claim, as will

driving a car into them."

Taking back control of the UK’s borders was a central campaign promise of Brexit.

It failed, so now you want to dismiss it as nothing to do with Brexit.

Well, I can see you're an expert when it comes to Muslim's kind of thinking, culture and laws.

Others would call you a racist probably.

Apparently wolf whistles became illegal in the UK earlier this year, on the first of April no less.

This will surely be confusing to many around the world who learnt about British culture from watching reruns of Benny Hill.

As muslim is a religion and not a race I find it highly unlikely that any normal educated person would call me racist, I think patriot would be a more accurate descriptive , I have no issues with anybody coming to the UK via legal means as long as they behave
