  1. If you Google 'driving schools in Bangkok' and you'll come up with a long list of them. I've just counted about 20. You'll need to find one that has an English speaking instructor (obviously) and is officially approved by the DLT. They usually run 1 week intensive courses which culminates in the theory and driving test followed by the issue of your license at the DLT. It's a 'one stop shop' procedure. The link below is the web site of one of these schools, but obviously the location will be a factor that only you can assess. Good luck. https://www.skdriving.com
  2. I think you just have to look up at any power pole to see the answer to that question.
  3. Why are you all going over the same old stuff over and over again? Why can't you all just wait until some official announcement is made on this subject, if it ever comes that is? All you are doing stressing yourselves up by speculating on this matter when none of you have any solid evidence as to what will, or will not happen in the future. And I'm going to repeat, yet again, the paragraph from the Thai Enquirer, dated Sept 18th 2023: 'The program will begin January 1, 2024 and apply only to tax residents in Thailand meaning tourists and short term workers will be exempt. Also exempt will be those who have been taxed in a foreign country that has a standing Double Tax Agreement with Thailand'. Now for heaven's sake give it a bloody rest! https://www.thaienquirer.com/50744/thai-government-to-tax-all-income-from-abroad-for-tax-residents-starting-2024/
  4. Yes, I baulked a bit at that. However have a read of this: Affects of climate change on mental health
  5. Hmm, this has the potential to cause us a problem. Our True package is registered in my wife's name and that includes the SIM card. But I use that SIM card for all of my day to day functions including banking and Truemoney wallet apps. Fortunately my wife has adopted my surname so it may not be a problem, but you never know.
  6. I didn't even know there were various choices. Anyway my choice is the one that Madam Moon brings home and prepares and love it, which ever one it is.
  7. Because it was designed to operate the Harrier VSTOL aircraft, but they went out of production and there has been no other alternative suitable aircraft available.
  8. It would be apparent that Simon Brown died of natural causes, otherwise the RTP would have had a lot more to say on the matter. It's not possible to ascertain the exact cause without a full autopsy and I recall Sheryl saying that it can be a month before the results are known. Besides, what business is it of ours anyway? 47 is a bit young to simply drop dead of natural causes but it is not unknown. I've had a number of friends and colleagues in this age group who unexpectedly past away. One was a really good buddy of mine who had a stroke at this same age.
  9. I get these kind of symptoms occasionally. My fix is have a No 3 buzz cut (home administered by Madam Moon) and then I apply Bergamot hair lotion twice a day. That generally sorts it within a few days. In addition I always wear a sun hat when I go out. Bergamot products are readily available in supermarkets.
  10. Yes there is plenty of factual and scientific evidence that the sea levels are rising. https://science.nasa.gov/earth/climate-change/cant-see-sea-level-rise-youre-looking-in-the-wrong-place/
  11. Yes it easy to rent a car in Thailand. Yes you can drive anywhere in the country if you wish. But, there is no such thing as an International Driving License. What do you really have?
  12. Judging by the standards that I frequently see from posters on here, the AI's IQ is well above them.
  13. I understood it perfectly. True the language is somewhat flowery but it still portrays the situation as it is on the streets of Khon Kaen. AI is not yet perfect and I doubt that it ever will be, but you're going to have to get used to it, because this is the 'new normal' whether you like it or not. What distracts from the story far more than the flowery AI language is people like you moaning and groaning about it, which is, I should point out off topic.
