  1. As others have said, this is utterly devastating. RIP little angels and little soldiers. Surely there should be a ban on LPG being used by any buses, minivans, taxis or any form of public transport; the financial savings that are the reason for using LPG, could be counterbalanced in tax concessions for companies and taxi drivers. Don’t let this ever happen again.
  2. Don't do anything, or take any medication that anyone recommends, just make an appointment ASAP with a urologist
  3. The consumers are speaking, and it is happening worldwide; the EV market in the UK is in utter chaos, but still the deniers cling to their delusions
  4. If you post by Thai Post EMS, it will be given to UK Royal Mail on arrival in the UK and they will definitely post to a PO box number
  5. Good luck to her; working hard and a good hairdresser / cutter; sensible prices, although no price shown for a "blow dry" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  6. Great, name and / or contact details please .... in PM if you feel the need to thanks
  7. Thanks, and similar advice to that given by @Liquorice once the agents get hold of you, and the immigration office know that, they can easily apply the official rules that they are happy to see circumnavigated when you use one of their agent buddies. Thanks for your input, I will certainly try and avoid the agent route now.
  8. Indeed. I have the same palaver every year with the witness issue; one of my wife’s friends, who would appear to have not eaten for 5 days prior to me buying her lunch in one of Hua Hin’s seafood restaurants … but what can one do ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  9. Yes, I know they don’t like doing the extension by marriage because of the work involved; at Hua Hin they have accepted the bank letter from the previous day for the last 4 years, so it is difficult to know what they will accept. They still accept Kor 2 from the previous day.
  10. My wife asked for the 3 month statements and letter when we had to go back to the bank last year, although I thought I only needed 2 months; but like you say, leave nothing to chance. I have to use Hua Hin, and they have several very unfriendly witches working there.
  11. Very good points you make; every year for the last 5 years, they have found some pedantic reason to make the marriage extension difficult. For 4 years they accepted the bank letter from the previous day, this year they made us go back to the bank to get another one dated on the day. They do everything possible to be unhelpful, obviously trying to drive me into the welcoming arms of an agent; they would definitely try and shaft me unless I do as DrJack suggests and leave Thailand and reenter starting over … thanks for your input
  12. Thanks DrJack, I might indeed be able to borrow the 400k from the UK; but this then raises the ugly and confusing issue of whether or not I might need to pay tax on remitting such a lump from overseas.
  13. Thanks DrJack, that sounds like the best, and maybe the only foolproof way of doing it. Probably the route I will take, many thanks
  14. Thanks DrJack, you have confirmed my worst fears because I think it will be difficult to go back to extension based on marriage, after I have done an extension based on retirement.
  15. For the last 5 years, my wife and I have renewed my extension of stay based on marriage ourselves at Hua Hin with 400k Baht in my account. I have had some unforeseeable expenses recently and will not have the 400k Baht in my account; so I am wondering if I can get an agent to do the extension, and how much they might charge. I don’t want to change to another type of extension because I will be able to go back to my normal procedure next year. Also any suggestions for an agent in Hua Hin welcome ….. thanks
