Aussietraveller
Hi All, I am just posting this as an update for those looking to get a similar Visa. My Situation: Living in Australia with Thai GF. Have been for the past 6 months. She has 12 month multi entry tourist Visa for Australia. We have known each other nearly 2 years. She is pregnant with our first child. Due in 6 months. Went to Thai Consulate in Brisbane today. Had a shave, put on a clean shirt ect... Produced the following documentation: Visa Application form Copy of GF Passport Copy of GF Thai ID Card 3 Months payslips for me to prove ongoing income Copy of letter from a company I own, confirming that I own it and will continue to get paid in my absence. My Passport. 1 passport photo. A$225.00 Basis of application: To go to Thailand for the birth of our child and support my GF in that process. 20 minutes later I left with Non Imm "O" Multi entry. Staff there are very helpful, friendly, overall a pleaseure to deal with. Hope that this is of some help to others out there.

I'm in a similar situation, 47yr old, leaving LOS on 29th going back to Oz but want to return in March or April, have a Thai g/f (but no baby on the way and am self employed) I was tossing up ways to extend my time back here until retirement or marriage, tourist or non imm 'o' visas - sounds like multi entry Non Imm 'o' is the way to go if I can get it. Thanks............
Paul123456
Excellent - thanks for posting that and good luck. Were they interested in your work situation and bank account / income? I have heard others say that they haven't even included that sort of info. Paul

Paul123456
Then how could his girlfriend be pregnant? Anyway could you explain the difference in terms of how the Queensland Consulate or other immigration officials see it and what it means to me (i am married). lopburi3
Wife is family - GF is not. Wife always trumps GF in officialdom. Just visit KL or Singapore and you will most likely not have to visit Oz (until you are ready for other reasons).
Aussietraveller
When i read the requirements for NON Imm O it clearly says Wife OR De Facto (i.e. GF) Consulate did not have any issue with it. As we are not yet married, i am not sure how she got pregnant either When i spoke to the Consulate they did ask me to bring a copy of a bank statement. I double checked this at the time, and asked the girl if payslips to prove income would suffice. She said this was fine. Hope this helps.
dr_Pat_Pong
For what it is worth, I am told that Brisbane almost always issue visa's on a while you wait system. Top notch service.

Confirms that Australia is culturally part of the West and not looking backward like Thailand and its neighbours: Paul23456: I would like to confirm with Aussietraveller: Pregnancy can happen before (and also OUT OF) marriage. But a note of caution: Do NOT try this in Thailand. Especially if you happen to be younger than 50. I speak from experience. Not a good idea at all :-( (For annual extension of stay if unmarried: Only papa/daddy above 50 are welcome in the Land of Smiles. But that's another subject, I guess) Edited January 8, 2007 by papakapbaan
