Tv Cliches

Featured Replies

I'll start:

1. Do not invest anything in Thailand you can't afford to lose.

An oft repeated mantra that is true, but... Don't you think anybody with any nous should know this?

2. 5555555

This is apt for many occasions, but a particular poster on general is using it in almost every post now!

Any others you you can think of?

Good Luck

555555 that's funny.

:o

were you even a member back then?

is that a question or a cliche. If it was a question then yes. Look at my joining date. If it was a cliche - then great timing...

I tell you what I ######ing hate 'TIT' and then when the bastards put in as an explanation '(This is Thailand)', like we dont ######ing know where we are or what TIT stands for, ######ing <deleted>.

That Trink has a lot to answer for.

TIT (this is Thailand) 5555 (ha ha ha ha), I love it here, so I'm not going back to my own country!!!

Oh and let's not forget: Thailand's not what it used to be!

I can't stand the acronym "LOS" because it's not something that people actually say, it's just lazy typing.

Thai women can't be trusted, western women are all fat.

Every Thai you encounter from the businessman to the samlor driver and the burger flipper is connected to some mythical mafia and will have you killed over the slightest disagreement so it's best to bend over and take whatever crap they give you.

My favs are the Thai GF who ripped me off for my bar or who needs money for her buffalo, her mother (who has died ten times this year) and/or her son (who is now undergoing chemotherapy after surviving pneumonia, bird flu and Alzheimers last month). 555 LOS TIT SOB

I overlook the cliches by newbies (hey, I had to ask for a few definitions not so long ago, eg <deleted>?), but I like to hook my talons in the new little sucks that are "always right" and trample on anyone, especially the old timers, who disagrees with them. I think they are fair game for thrashings. I know I deserve what I get from our own inmates when I say something stupid (knock it off, now) and I know I deserve it. Instant experts on Thailand, they reallly get my goat. Arrive here and four days later they are directing other newcomers with a conceit that is stomach sickening.

As well as the 55555, LOL, ROFLMAO, LOS (has anyone ever heard Thailand called that) I had better stop now, I feel my blood pressure rising and that isn't good in an old gilr like me

OK, OK, Iadmit it!! I do the LoS thing. Sorry!! cdnvic's quite right, it's just because I'm too lazy to type "Thailand" all the time. If I could get away with just typing "T" for Thailand, rather than LoS, I would. Maybe I should try that & have all the newbies ask what that stands for. :o

Sort of related to leisurely's above is the people who come here and think they're doing the country a big favour by shagging around, usually making comments such as "if it wasn't for the sex trade the economy here would collapse".

Expect a post on how they've just been had some time later.

That Trink has a lot to answer for.

TiT

totster :o:D

People who say "I love Isaan"

Despite the fact they have never been here ........ arrrggghhhh ..... right, where are my tablets. .... or as the wife would say 'kapshool'

stretch the page? like copying all the quotes to answer one post or...?

Not a cliche, but the overuse of emoticons really annoys me.

Especially this one: :o

Seriously... use some imagination.

Another one that occured to me, is when members refer to their kids and feel the need to call them my lukkrung, instead of my son/daughter.

Seems like they are objectifying their children somewhat.

IMHO of course

It is a high-quality emoticon, indeed, expressing subtle irony.
