January 20, 200818 yr I would just like to take this opportunity to thank the Thai Visa members who encouraged me to get a publisher for my first book, 'Last Escape' . http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?ac...=2&t=145109 I would especially like to thank members such as Andrew Hicks, writer of Thai Girl, for their advice and help. Bangkok bookhouse published my book and it was released a few days ago. It should be in shops throughout Thailand, and SE Asia shortly. My book was inspired by a blog, which I began on ThaiVisa last year, and although it has changed a lot since that incarnation it owes a lot to this site. Thank you ThaiVisa. http://www.fictionasia.com/ http://www.bangkokbooks.com/ http://paulgarrigan.blogspot.com/ Edited January 20, 200818 yr by garro

Thank you ThaiVisa. http://www.fictionasia.com/ http://www.bangkokbooks.com/ http://paulgarrigan.blogspot.com/ Don't forget to drop off a copy for Monk Gordon. Haven't been up to see him for a couple months, will probably go early February. Usually stop by TESCO-LOTUS and grap him a pizza, large size. Or if I've been down to Sukumvit a day or two prior to a visit, get him a Subway, Italian BMT, foot long, double meat, everything on it! I met Gordon via the Lao-Hmong connection a few years back. Oh, yes congrats on your success!! Mac Last Escape Author : Garrigan Paul ISBN : 978974-13-42426 Category : Asia Inside-Out Pages : 198 Format : 130 x 198 mm Description : This is the true story of how a hopeless drunk found redemption in a Thai temple. January 20, 200818 yr Congratulations on the publishing of your book; I can't wait to buy a copy and read it. I took a look at your blog many moons ago and was really impressed with your ability to capture your experience with words. I'm sure that your efforts will bring hope and direction to many who suffer from the "hungry ghost" syndrome, addiction, that is. I "last escaped" twelve and a half years ago at a similar spiritual community in California where I spent 2 years before coming to Thailand after meeting Ajahn Jumnien one night down the road a bit. One thing happens after another and all the pieces fall where they may. Acceptance is the key; sobriety is the best! Thanks again! I remember meeting Monk Gordon over 10 years ago and really appreciating the conversation we had.
January 20, 200818 yr Sadly, one might say, you should have a rather extensive built-in reader base. There seems to be more than a few addictive personalities with their requisite vices and dependencies. Normalcy might not sell but the struggle back to normalcy sometime does.
January 20, 200818 yr Do Bangkok Books ship overseas? Well Done Garro, Top stuff, I missed this when you were putting your ideas together, did you put in General? If so that would be the reason I missed it, I rarely go there. Let us all know Endures question above, there will be some interest from outside SEA, I'd say. Good Luck Moss

January 20, 200818 yr Bangkok Books do ship overseas. I've just ordered Garro's book and another. The shipping charge to the UK for both was $12US.

January 23, 200818 yr Author Hey Garro, are you in to publishing some stuff about Tuberculosis related to probs in SE Asia ??? Also could you just clearly state the name of the temple again please Seonai, the name of the temple is Wat Thamkrabok. I can't say that I've ever considered publishing stuff about TB. As a nurse I looked after people with the conditon, but I wouldn't claim to know that much about it.
January 23, 200818 yr I'd be very very interested in reading this book. Nice marketing skills u got there too
