Amid the chaos, the girl’s older sister reportedly attempted to fight off the students, but they successfully separated the mother from her daughter. Witness Josh Wagner, who stopped his car believing he was witnessing a schoolyard fight, helped restrain Ihsan until police arrived. The girl, visibly shaken, fled into the school with her boyfriend, yelling, "My dad was trying to kill me." Zahraa reportedly pursued her into the school but was denied entry. The principal eventually placed the school on lockdown to ensure the girl’s safety. Both parents were arrested at the scene and later appeared in Thurston County Superior Court on November 5.
