Pattaya to host transvestites contest

CHONBURI, Nov 2 (TNA) - Pattaya will host an international beauty contest for transvestites on Saturday.

Transvestites from more than 30 countries are expected to take part in the pageant – Thailand’s first international beauty contest for cross-dressing men, one of the organisers, Miss Alisa Phanthusak, told TNA.

The pageant, Miss International Queen 2004, will be held at the Tiffany Show Theatre in Pattya, according to the assistant managing director of the Tiffany Show Pattaya Company, which is organising the event.

The pageant follows Tiffany Show's success in holding beauty contests in the past few years for local transvestites to select Thailand's entrants in the Miss Queen of the Universe in the United States, said Miss Alisa.

Thai transvestites have won the title for the past three years.

Apart from helping promote local tourism, the Pattaya pageant would also help celebrate Tiffany Show's 30 years in the business of Broadway-style transvestite shows, Miss Alisa said. (TNA)--E008
