Thailand To Siem Reap?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I was wondering if it is possible and safe to travel overland from Thailand to Siem Reap in Cambodia? I would like to travel with my wife and 3 kids so I need to know how safe it is if its possible. Say from Surin? or Korat??

Bus from Korat > Arunya prathet >poipet >siem rieb

but the road from Poipet to SR is not so good .. escape to go there in rainy season .

My experience exactly ... FLY!

I consider myself quite the adventuresome traveller but I will NEVER to Poipet to Siem Reap by bus again!

However the boatride from Siem Reap to P.P. across the lake and down the river was AWESOME

Not a nice trip during the rainy season.

Better to fly from BKK.

yes there is a bus - but

no you dont want to go on it

see bambi's post - i spent 18 hours on this journey... it truly is the same as the photo depicts

never again :o

How about bus to Battambang then boat to Siem Reap??

same type of roads ....

AirAsia has cheap flights to Phnom Penh .. ten the busses and boats ....

the problem is the roads ..... avoid them completely in rainy season ...

You can also go to Battambang and take a boat down a narrow channel then across the Tonle Sap to Siem Reap: an extraordinary trip.
