  1. On the topic of favourable white skin and all that , I have noticed over the years working with chinese on building sites that they go dark very quickly in the summer months and the office types try very hard to protect their skin from tanning .

One might find that those hard-working Thai lovelies that appear hardened from the years of sun will be every bit as "light skinned" where the sun doesn't shine.

Conclusions that the base skin colour throughout tropical sun-drenched Asia is more akin to a lighter shade of pale might have some merit.

    Or neapolitan ice cream .

  2. I like the morning show with the four lovely ladies all sat behind a counter and they are discussing light hearted subject matter and they get a bit excited sometimes and they all start going " moo moo , mooooo , moo mooo "

  3. Just a wee drap in an ocean of irony brew .

Now the scots could show those johny foriegners a thing or too about pizza - deep fried it's the only way to cook em !

Love 'em I do....only after 10 pints on a winters night with snow on the ground and a bitter headwind. Saved my life that steaming pile of saturated fat has....reaches places even the haggis supper fails to warm.

Well so ma ex-GF fae Peterhead telt me!

Yes I have heard the wardens indulge in a haggis super repast :D

  4. Ah shuduppa you face , wots the matter you heh ?

pizza with extra satire on top is my favourite , especialy when washed down wi some irony brew.

Jeeeeeeez you guys, i just don't believe you lot........if you don't like the pizza here why don't you leave.:ermm::lol:

Stop this joviality and pick sides....its us or them I tell ya....:D

Irony brew works well with hangovers and bores I have to concur.

It's "pick slices " dont ya know ?

  5. I womder when they will outlaw crackers with calling ketchup on it pizza? Once you get rid of Pizza Hut/Company and the cracker-crust joints, that will be the end of pizza in Thailand. :o

Just buy two.....take them home fill with riccotta and some nice ham and olives and fold together then heat in the oven. Top with a bit of bolognese sauce and voila...delicious calzone! :D

i suppose the usual bores are going to come on here saying that this pizza business is Thai bashing. :coffee1:

Nope its got nowt to do with Thais at all. Its the Fourth World War is this mate.

  6. Think he maybe talking about Ubon Ratchathani university.

I'm still not sure where it is.

The comment "Warrin side" makes it confusing to me.

So is it near Nevada Complex, or near SK Shopping, or is it on the Warin side, across from the Ratchathani Uni way south of Ubon?

About 10 kilometer southof the Mun bridge there is a big old University with a lot of dormitory block flats being built . There is plenty of bars for the studios youngsters running along the main road .

I know where you mean Luke, since I pass every time I go to Ubon, but it's far away for those looking for a bar in Ubon city, and transport is needed for those who enjoy a cold one! ;)

Ah leo . I will be up country in a few weeks , maybe see you around for a cold one and some idle banter ....:D

  8. Guilty as charged ...rolleyes.gif.if there is two behind the counter i normally send the other one to make me a hot dog aswell jap.gif

    The same for me.

This is because I have become too old and spasticated to work out how to do this myself. When it comes to doing anything with mobile phones I am useless.

As for the OP, if this little irritant is your major concern in life, don't worry, then you have no problems at all.

As the wise man says; there are worse troubles at sea.

sorry please point out where in my OP i used either the word "major", or "concern"?

had your attention not lapsed you might have got to the part where i said "just wondering"

    You're wandering now

    what to do

    now you know

    this is the end

  9. This is a projection for I willnae be home for another couple of weeks .

I am, when the house is quiet with offspring all out going to pick from the garden, a few leaves of the green stuff ,Kana they call it .Then I will smash up some garlic and a chilli . Then I will heat a wee bit of olive oil in my wok , on low, and chuck in the garlic ,chili and chopped kanna . Then I am goingtae crack an egg over the top taking care not to scramble it . I will a add rough salt and ground black pepper . As this is all frying I will be opening a very well chilled bottle of Leo . The finished egg will be layed out on a slice of my very own home made basil grain bread . I will then scoff the lot standing up in the kitchen washed down with beer . Hurrah , I say !

  10. It's a Thai forum !!

Would '(some/x% of) women in Thailand are dishonest' appease you ?

Yes, it is a Thai forum. What a perfect conduit for those that find a critique towards every aspect of Thai society and their interaction thereof. More often than not, the punditry tends to be exaggerated to the extreme while the angst of inferior judgement takes it's toll unjustified. Observe any such Thai/Asian expat forum.....the themes are harmonious.

Harmonious? As in my boom lorry?

Boing boing boing boing boing boing . :header:

  11. I have just started reading - Flashman and the Angel of the Lord - by George MacDonald Frazer . Darkly hilarious .

I have enjoyed reading -The Railway Man - by Eric Sutherland Lomax and -River Road to China- by Milton Osbourne both with Thai historic content .

I live up country most of the time , Ubon , and haven't found a good bookshop here abouts .

  12. Hong Kong has the "thai shop" where Thais eat , sing karoke , gamble and socialise . They are often unliscensed , speak easy sort a places . The food is hit or miss but definatley home style and the cooks give a regional twist . These are found all over the territory .

There is also Kowloon City , a Thai ghetto for want of a better description with all things Thai for sale . There on Nam Kok street there is a restaurant called Sep Elee Doo with delicious food , Isaan stylo .
