  1. I love the compassion readers have on this site...A big difference between a true medical emergency and a "Karen" who demands something or refuses to comply with air protocol or policy
  2. Are these articles written by brain dead people? Bottom feeders
  3. I love it....you need to be accountable for your work whether a barber or Thai Airways...It's time for the Thai culture understand immediate feedback for inferior or perceived poor work Lesson learned
  4. All these British teachers haven't helped as Thai students still ranked at/near the bottom in regional English testing scores....
  5. With her worthless degree, seeing if they can get some blackmail monies now.... It won't go to trail as the family is looking for money....There will be a negotiations and I wonder who will act as an arbitrator?
  6. The Thai culture avoids accountability...It is not an issue of whether right or wrong, but the culture doesn't like the idea that any customer can issue an opinion. It is only an opinion (doesn't mean fact) and any customer has the right to an opinion. The fall back position here is we will sue you for criticism and damaging our reputation. Prove to me it damaged your reputation...I would counter sue It is a cultural thing as a way to protect itself from encouraging constructive criticism. It doesn't matter whether justified or not. It is a freedom of speech issue...Does Thailand encourage or restrict freedom of speech by its actions?
  7. Pure negligence and Darwinism at work….no different than grown ups allowing young kids to play near ponds and canals unsupervised…city living has dangers too Move on….
  8. Question - why would a non Thai agree with role playing the crime again for police? i am innocent and up to the prosecutor to prove my guilt in a court of law…. it is bogus that the police act as judge and jury even b/f a case comes to a trial…is there not a proper court system in thailand? That is a rhetorical question
  9. How the article is written already declares the drunk Brit is guilty of assault he says he says type of case but let’s see what the evidence produces…documented injuries? Robbery?
  10. The incompetence of thailand decision makers is the core problem they pay attention when tourism numbers fall but zero concern for their own citizens and foreigners health when being exposed to air pollution… that is what should drive policy and enforcement…they can’t recognize that AP is killing/making sick their own people in the country…instead they are more worried about lack of foreign monies being spent here not a smart culture to put it politely
  11. Forest fires are not the same as intentional hotspots… the % of smoke generated by a true forest fire (accidentally man made or by nature) is a fraction compared to intentional burns…. please get the language correct and don’t mislead the public
  12. Could have had a medical emergency…I hate the speculation w/o proper evidence
  13. My guess - speeding for the current sea conditions lead the the boat breaking apart/flipping and sinking driver error and poor decision making
  14. Pretty tragic situation…. for him to cut off his own arm during the process is quite amazing…rarely would a person even think about doing such a brave thing…
  15. Safety first in thailand…. you see workers employees whoever sitting standing laying all over back half of vehicles everyday w/o regulatory enforcement, these are not accidents but incidents that are bound to happen and will continue to happen life is cheap in Asia…
  16. Unless you get a re entry stamp in new PP, your old stamp is no good and they don’t give you a re entry stamp unless you have your transferred visa stamp extension in new PP b/f you can apply for a re entry permit must do it all b/f your departure to Oz and return b/f expired extension
  17. If you can prevent illness, you do….nonsense to buy into treatment from AP…. deal with AP prevention not marketing treatments for it… this thread smells of accepting air pollution
  18. I wonder what % of foreigners flying domestically are overstayers? that’s what I thought….target overstayers instead of everyone and you might have a higher batting average… let’s inconvenience everyone to catch a few…kind of like setting up a checkpoint and check random drivers rather than targeting active drivers who are violating rules of the road
  19. Thai culture loves dealing with low hanging irrelevant tradition violations but high risk serious issues like firework or road safety goes unabated… waiting to read about another firework incident or bus accident
  20. Sorry but no sympathy what so ever… People are stupid and go from there….
  21. Let them burn but charge them 2,000B a rai…behavior will change if one has an effective implementation vs the threat of a 2,000B fine for burning in general…it is not specific not enforced no consequences and no system in place the fine system currently is a joke and the farmers/burners know it is totally ineffective thus no deterrent
  22. The wild Buffalo were here first…they are just protecting their habitat…. good lesson for invading Thai settlers on air polluting vehicles
  23. My experience is your One year clock includes the 30 day under consideration stamp so the actual extension stamp will be 11 months out the day they put it in your PP - not 12 months.
