  1. Pointless

You have basically just said it is a rip off and why it is so. I don't shop there, especially for fresh fruit in a country with fresh fruit available in abundance. But thank you for your 3 examples of why I should not change my habbit

  2. I dont really mind what the op does, if you want 100 girls on the side good luck to you.

what i dont like while reading TV is the amount of people who seem to make threads or posts just to tell people about there supposed sexual prowess or how tough they are which seems to be another popular one. Dont you have friends to talk to?

  3. If you want to go so badly you can hop on a bus for really cheap. I wouldnt fancy a bus ride from CM to pattaya, but if its really what u want and u have no money dont know why u are thinking of flying.

Ultimately isnt your choice made for you, you have no money to move, and no way of acquiring the money. Therefore as much as you may wish it wasnt so, your only answer is to go back to the US.

Im sure you could find a way, but from what uve said so far seems doubtful

  4. Posts using derogatory nicknames or intentional misspelling of people’s names will be deleted. If you don’t want your post to be deleted, spell people’s names correctly.

Little off the point, but in football does that mean you cant refer to Chelsea as Chelski due to its Russian owner? Or is it just people?

  5. Considering Eurasia is a land mass which is much of the continents on Europe and Asia, then thats a lot of pupils your talking about. However I believe it is mixed race children you are referring to.

Untimely it could make a difference having a dad with time on their hand to be there for the child. But then there are some with time but still dont bother, and some with no time, but make every effort to help when possible. Doesnt take a genius to know that it would always benefit a child to have parents interested in their schooling. But a fair point well made.

  6. Everything seems to have gone a little off topic, but I just thought Id mention that I work in an international school and they cover WWI and WWII. It must be said that when asking at the start of the module 'who was Hitler' I had 3 hands go up out of a class of 21. My feeling is they dont know anything about it.

It is not as some people are suggesting a lack of interest, is more history I feel is not something taught very well here in general unless it is told in a certain way.

Thailand did have an involvement in WWII, much like people have mentioned with the Japanese occupation, as a result declaring war on Britain and France but not the USA, which when it came to retributions being paid after WWII, the USA made sure Thailand got off lightly. The main focus also was Japan fighting British and French troops in Burma, Lao, Cambodia and Vietnam, giving land gained to Thailand as a agreement for being occupied.

Sure Nazi Germany and Thailand might not have had a direct link, but it certainly was a world war involving most corners of the globe (mainly due to colonial links).

  7. I got a season ticket to Bangkok Glass, on the whole its very enjoyable, great value for money and u can have a beer in the stand (not something used to back home these days). Really good crowd who go. But out the way but not the worst commute there. On the note though of foreigners supporting local teams, at games I have noticed more and more coming, not many for sure, but ever few weeks a couple more faces (and that I mean are coming to more than a one off have a bit of a look game). Think being a Spurs and Bangkok Glass fan I have the feeling I like to punish myself in two leagues rather than just the one.

A further point, not that they are superstars, but its nice after the game how u can enjoy a beer and meet the players. As a side note I think my season ticket was 1,900 baht and that was including League, Toyota cup and Fa cup games, cant fault it even for its dodgy refs and lower quality than EPL.

  8. It isnt the bars that a lot of the ex pats go, nor the ones with the girls on stage. I find it most tedious and loud when you go to a more Thai style bar where people are eating and drinking and you get the generic thai house band playing the same song from the past 5 years or so as every other bar similar to it. There it is far to loud, normally the seat furthest possible away from the stage means you can have a shout conversation with your friends, otherwise you may as well just sit and smile at each other.... or leave.

At the same time, the places are always busy if not full and the people who go there seem to be having a wonderful time, so fair play to them I guess.

  9. I cant say for sure about risk. But they do for certain have board games such as monopoly and a few others (all in english) at central lad prao in the cetral department store part. On what I think is the fourth floor is the childrens section. You will find them there among all the toys. I honestly can say they can be found there. Price was same as you would get in the UK as far as I remember, either way didnt sound unreasonable.

  10. thank u very much for the advice scott. u been really helpful. i will look into the TL and opening page of website. I will keep u posted, if u think of anything else i might find useful then feel free to post here or pm. i will keep and eye on the thread.

    once again thank you

  11. thank you scott for that advice, ill look into the teaching license.

Spoon man i did a typo im sorry, the highlighted line is supposed to state that im from the UK.

I am currently in the UK, was aiming for june time. I know the main teacher drive is around easter

but i guess jobs do appear all the time.

Like i said any information helps, as i have not researched this topic.

  12. Hi, i been on thaivisa a while, but im new to teaching. Im just looking what people can tell me is out there. Briefly i am for the UK, got a BA Geography and then went on to complete my PGCE, now i am a qualified teacher in the uk at secondary level. What sort of jobs teaching could i get in thailand? what sort of wage p/m would i be looking at? where is it best to look for jobs (any websites)?

I know this question has probably been asked a fair few times, but if someone could take the time to help me out id be very grateful as although i know thailand well, i am not so clued up about the side of teaching there.

    Thanks

  13. Last Friday - 08/10/10? We applied at the same day. May I ask you what time your wife dropped off her application ?

yes we applied on 08/10/10. i did not go but if i remember correct she had a early appointment. think was round when it just opened. and yeh we got the sms today about midday.

hope that helps u in any way

  14. I know i wont know until my wife goes, but she applied for a uk family visitor visa last friday and this friday got the sms saying she could come pick the passport up.

Admitedly no one probably knows conclusivly but is it normally a good or bad sign for it to be done quick or is it all dependent on their work load? obviously i dont asmume anyone will know for sure, but i have to wait the whole weekend. Wife was excited and ive had to play it down in case things dont go as planed. Just any little gem of knowledge might help ease the wait.

  15. I was wondering if anyone could help me. I am in england currently, having left my wife in thailand. I am unable to go back to thailand for a while and would like my wife to come to visit me in the uk for a few months. I am currently studying and living at my family home if this makes a difference. I was wondering what i needed in terms of documents to support the visa. Is the family visa the correct one for a wife to come visit on? if anyone has any experience in this department i would really appreciate the help

  16. thank you 7by7. I appreciate what u said about the money and housing. I was not trying to revitalise and old post as i did read the posts about pgce's. My main point of posting this time was i did not know if i may have more luck with a tourist visa, than with a settlement visa. Think it is just more worry than anything kicking in, as i do feel i have a case for settlement anyways.
