School holidays so plenty of business on the beach during the day; more than normal I would say. We should not just consider activities after dark when discussing Pattaya during the present crisis.
I went twice to Pattaya last week and was stuck in traffic. They make it seem dramatic when in fact places like Makro and Foodland are bustling. I never trust the news. . .

Live and let live... I used to smoke and quit for health reasons. I find it now smelly, but I respect people's choices. I find that banning it in public spaces is good, but if I were still a smoker and someone told me I couldn't smoke in the privacy of my home I would be quite upset. There is a limit to how much the government can tell people what they can and can't do. On this one, I side by the smokers... my home is my castle...

Expensive enforced imprisonment in a hotel room for a week followed by being limited to the hotel grounds for a further week is plainly not an enticement to visit Thailand.
That crazy red tape is what has minimized the chances of me catching it, or my wife catching it so far. My friend back home caught it and survived. He told me it was the worst thing that ever happened to him and this guy isn't a wuss. Considering that there are more and more people catching it a second time and that apparently the second time around is worst... My vote is on the side of prudence. What is tourism worth if half the population is down with the virus?
We've been safe so far, keep it that way.

In my experience Quebec is one of the most vibrant places I've been to. Work would take me there 1-2 weeks a month. Two or three decades ago the economy was depressed but the last few years it's been going better than most of Canada. Your comments make me wonder if you have ever been to Chez Paree?
Dude I could care less of Chez Paree...I lived there 36 years so I guess I know what I am talking about. Plenty other good gogo bars than chez paree and if that is the staple by which you judge a place kinda sad standards.

I don't get it. Back home... I understand... but here?
This is the land of plenty and with the dating sites now available a 25 year old guy could be up and running in no time.
Mental illness is such a sad affair in the world today and it doesnt seem to be getting any better.

This trend is contrary to the Thai way...
Usually, if they can't sell, they jack the price up...
The longer I stay here the more mystified I am

Quebec is not an easy place to live. High taxes, few good blue collar jobs... I am actually surprised things like this don't happen more often. It is a depressing place.

How can one pay taxes without a tax number and work permit?
The answer is dont pay taxes cos it's illegal for you to work here.
Stay under the radar if you dont want problems with the law.

Something has started, and I think it will be difficult to stop it, without the situation turning ugly.
Dissent has never stopped here it just took a rest. Unfortunately, no matter how long you hold your breath... don't get your hopes up. The more things change kinda cliche...

Or in Thailand: At least the traffic jams are back.
I actually got pulled over for walking to fast in Bangkok. I am a little over 60 years old.
You will find that the Army will realize they have created a severe PR problem for themselves in the coming months with the future of Thailand. They will come up with lame attempts to smooth things over.
Somehow I doubt that. The red shirt protests were way worse yet all came back to normal after.

Think about a snowball that started rolling from the top of a mountain
Hmmmm I doubt it. Remember the red shirts at Central World?
It did last a while but in the end was quashed. Very unfortunately it is the one who controls the guns that has the last word in this country.

Hi, I am looking for a shop be it in Bangkok, Pattaya or almost anywhere in Thailand that does drive shaft reconditioning. Any help and contact info for a shop would be quite useful.

It most definitely the schools responsibility to provide proof that the degree is real.
Read what Scott said. Confirms what I said. In 20 years here never saw a school check a degree. Reference checks... yes but no credential nor degree validation check. It will never happen here with the teacher turnover. It is not economically and time wise feasible. It looks like you are guessing.
